Carolina Kitchen: Tabletop Cucumbers

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon of sliced garden cucumbers
  • 4 cups vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1-1/4 tablespoons mustard seed
  • 1-1/4 tablespoons celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve all dry ingredients in vinegar. Pour over sliced cucumbers.
  2. Place in a sealed container in the refrigerator. Pickles will last for almost a year.
  3. Do not heat ingredients.

NOTE: Add slivers of onion if you want
