BREVARD, N.C. -- An eating disorder center in Brevard that helped women with anorexia and bulimia has now expanded to help adolescents.
Tapestry Eating Disorder Clinic is now providing services to youth from its new clinic in Fletcher.
Fifteen-year-old Tierra Taylor is among the clients getting assistance through counseling and an individualized treatment plan.
"I've always had body image issues, but my mom noticed it before I did," Tierra said.
"She really felt that her life was out of balance, and so we were able to provide meetings with a dietitian," said Shawna Scott, Tapestry's clinical director.
Various activities during therapy are also helping Tierra find new ways to cope and prevent self injury, such as cutting.
