Two World War II veterans will share their personal stories in WNC on this D-Day anniversary.

"I hope they remember the sacrifice that the people who didn't come home did. That's a terrible thing when you go to war and somebody doesn't return. It's heartbreaking," said Larry Hoffman.

Hoffman will speak at the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas in Brevard.

He landed on the beach of Normandy six days after the D-Day invasion, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Hoffman and fellow vet Tom McCrary will speak at the D-Day 75 event, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the museum in downtown Brevard.
