4 charged in 2016 murder of teen Anderson boy

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged three men with murder in the 2016 shooting death of 18-year-old Courvocia Jaalen Tisheen Hunter of Anderson.

A fourth person is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Hunter's death.

Raheem Shabazz McCoppin, 23; Ladarias Deshon Strickland, 19; and Latrell Raequan Willingham, 17, all of Anderson, have all been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

About 2:45 a.m. on September 25, 2016, the suspects pursued three people in a Dodge Durango travelling on Highway 76 in Anderson County. The suspects fired several rounds from a handgun into the Dodge, wounding Hunter and the driver, Han’Drikus Laykeim Don’Tae Webb, age 18.

Following the incident, Webb failed to render the necessary aid to Hunter and continued to drive around the area instead of calling for medical assistance or taking him to the hospital. Due to his reckless disregard for the teenager's life, Webb is charged with involuntary manslaughter.

All four subjects are currently incarcerated at the Anderson County Detention Center.

Bond has been denied for McCoppin, Strickland and Willingham.
