A 10-day event offers an opportunity to enjoy music, craft beer and food.
The 2019 Asheville Amadeus Festival kicked off Friday night with the release of two unique beers brewed for the occasion.
Burial Beer Co.'s symphony-inspired Righteous and Barbaric Souls Imperial Stout and Mozart-inspired Requiem.
The festival, which ends March 24, spans multiple Asheville venues, features collaborations with local favorites like Burial Beer Co. and joins forces with all-star musicians such as Gov't Mule front man and Grammy Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, producer and revered guitarist Warren Haynes and internationally acclaimed pianist Garrick Ohlsson.
Asheville Symphony music director Darko Butorac said it's a great way for the symphony to connect with the community.
"Beer is such a big thing in Asheville, you know. It's one of the identities of our city," Butorac said. "Music is an identity of our city. For the two to come together for me is absolutely logical."
Saturday night, Asheville's own Warren Haynes -- backed by the symphony -- is performing at 8 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium.
