Family moments go by in a flicker.

At Twisty Maple in Fletcher, Sheila Mraz has helped preserve those fleeting moments.

Each year, Mraz gives away a free photo session to a deserving mother. But after seeing a mountain of heart-warming mom stories, she decided she couldn't just pick one, or even one dozen.

"We need hope, we need joy, we need excitement, so if I can give 44 mini-sessions, absolutely!" News 13's Person of the Week said.

Let's just say it turned into the mother of all giveaways. Sarah Jean Smith is one of the lucky moms, nominated by her mother.

Sarah Jean and Nathan Smith were the first to be photographed. Their little boy Oakley just turned one.

"I think it's really interesting to document this time," she said. "For all families, we'll think about what were we doing during COVID."

"I'm really impressed with Sheila," says Nathan. "That's more ambitious than anything I could think of. 44 is amazing!"

"The love is abundant," Mraz says. "And that's when I love to be able to take out my camera and shine that light right back to them and show them how much God loves them."

Now, Sheila's got a special connection to dozens of families, giving them a story to go with their photos.

"I feel so good to be able to do this, so it definitely fills my cup," she says.
