Asheville Police investigating after woman reportedly attacked over the weekend

The Asheville Police Department is investigating after reports of an attack over the weekend on Fairview Road.

According to APD, on Saturday, September 9, 2017, just before 10 p.m. the Asheville Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery.

The victim reported she was walking to TGI Friday's along Fairview Road when she was attacked from behind by two black males.

Both suspects reportedly fled the scene after the victim fought back.

The victim sustained multiple lacerations as a result of the attack.

The incident is under investigation.

The Asheville Police Department says there have been no similar attacks reported in the area.
