A developer hoping to build hundreds of units in a West Asheville neighborhood has asked for more time before holding a public hearing. The plan is to conduct a traffic study of the area before the hearing.

Warren Sugg, of Civil Design Concepts, on behalf of Catalyst Capital Partners, has applied for a conditional use permit for multi-family residential, commercial and vacation rental developments on South Bear Creek Road behind Crossroads Church.

The Buncombe County planning director said the Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing next month.
