Finding forever homes for those favorite furry friends was the goal of a pet adoption push on Saturday.
The "Subaru Loves Pets" adoption event with Asheville Humane Society kicked off on Oct. 24. It comes from a partnership between the ASPCA and Prestige Subaru, aiming to help more than 100 homeless animals find families.
It’s free to adopt any pet over six-months-old.
"The adoption process is the same," said Asheville Humane Society volunteer Kelly Paul. "We still do a counseling with a professional adoption counselor. Every animal is vaccinated and spayed or neutered. They get a free bag of food to bring home with them.”
The adoption promotion continues all next week at the Asheville Humane Society, through Oct. 30.
