Eblen Charities and Ingles Markets are once again teaming up with and other area businesses to make Thanksgiving a happy day for more than 800 Western North Carolina families.
Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving was held Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the parking lot of the Ingles in the South Forest Shopping Center on Hendersonville Road.
Thanks to Ingles Markets, Beverly Hanks and Duke Energy and iHeartRadio, Eblen Charities provided the “fixin’s” for an entire Thanksgiving meal, including turkeys, green beans, stuffing mix, instant potatoes, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and brownie mix.
Families pre-registered to receive a meal through the Eblen Charities office.
Staff and volunteers packaged up and distributed turkey dinners via drive-through to maintain social distancing.
“We’re grateful to our community partners to be able to continue this Thanksgiving tradition begun 16 years ago,” said Eblen Charities’ Executive Director Robin Boettcher. “The need is greater than ever because of the devastating effects of COVID-19, including the thousands of job losses in Buncombe County.
