Folks lined up Thursday for the official release of Highland Brewing's Cold Mountain beer.
The seasonal release has been a tradition for the last 22 years. Many local beer lovers consider the arrival of Cold Mountain as sign of the holiday season.
People were waiting in line since 8 a.m. on Thursday for the 3 p.m. release.
Weaverville resident Greg Plank said he took the day off from work so he could be the first person in line for the festive brew.
"We wait for this every year. This is my fourth year that I have been out here," Plank said. "And I wait for this release. I take off work so I can be here."
The release festivities will continue Friday and Saturday at Highland Brewing. Cold Mountain will be available in stores early next week.
