A science teacher in Marion has gone the extra mile to teach her students about the weather.

Renata Crawley set up an outdoor science lab to help with demonstrations for her students.

Right now, they're learning virtually, but Crawley says it helps to be able to show them what she's talking about.

During the weather lesson one student had a question for News 13's chief meteorologist Jason Boyer.

“We want to know, what’s the worst storm he’s ever experienced in Asheville?" the student asked.

"And me and Miss Crawley have been wondering, do all cold fronts bring rain and thunder, or just some?”
