Police seeking Nebo woman accused of stealing car

McDowell County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a woman accused of for stealing a car.

Lakken Nicole Bowman, 29, of Earl Lee Road in Nebo, is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

She is also wanted on several other charges, including identity theft, obtaining property by false pretense, probation violation and being ahabitual felon.

On May 21, Edward Carson, of Huntsville Road in Marion, reported that someone stole a 1998 Ford Escort from his driveway. A week later, Carson spotted his vehicle on N.C. 226 South and notified authorities.

State troopers stopped the Escort and found Eric Scott McMahan, 36, of Spruce Pine, driving the car. He was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Deputies say further investigation revealed that Bowman took the automobile from Carson’s property.
