The Asheville Downtown Association is hosting a series of activities that they hope will encourage residents to shop, dine and play downtown in a safe manner this holiday season.
Our downtown businesses need us more than ever this year. They're counting on a strong Holiday Season to help them get through the slower winter months. Businesses are taking COVID-19 health and safety guidelines seriously, so respect their rules as you're out and about.
Explore Asheville, the City of Asheville, the Asheville Area Arts Council, Rabbit Rabbit, Cambria Suites Downtown Asheville, Max Ganly Photography, Asheville Community Theatre, LEAF Global Arts and Julieta Fumberg Creative have come together to create a safe holiday atmosphere of socially distanced fun.
Liz Tallent, one of the operating partners at Rabbit Rabbit told News 13, “we are going to have Santa masked and we will ask people standing in line to have their masks on too.”
Starting Saturday, Nov. 21, and running through the end of the year, people are invited to visit with Santa, shop for friends and family and enjoy local eating establishments.
"You know obviously with the pandemic it’s been a difficult year for our businesses and the bottom line is that local businesses really need our support more than ever and having a strong holiday season will help them get through those slower winter months," said Asheville Downtown Association Executive Director Meghan Rogers.
