A town hall meeting will take place Wednesday evening to discuss a controversial apartment development planned for Overlook Road.
The developer for the project has scaled back plans to include 98 single family homes, instead of 250.
After News 13's original report, plans for the project were put on hold and eventually changed. In June 2017, Derek Allen, the attorney for the development team, discussed the importance of reaching out to neighbors when working on a project.
“I'm a land use and zoning lawyer and I tell all my clients, whether they're working on their house or working on an apartment project, reach out to your neighbors. Start the conversations early, because if you leave that alone, then rumors start and it's very difficult to reestablish trust after that and that's something we're going to have to work on this week,” Allen said at the time.
The town hall is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Koontz Intermediate School.
