DESOTO, Texas (KEYE) - A massive python is off the streets after it was found earlier this week just off I-35 in North Texas near DeSoto.

The yellow Burmese python was dead when it was found, so officers did not have to wrangle it.

Pythons are not venomous but they are constrictors. They are known as the "giant snake" of choice for reptile owners.

Unfortunately, the snakes tend to be poorly cared for and frequently released into the wild.
