(KUTV) – Police officers had to use a Taser to subdue a suspect who they said tried to zap them with his own stun gun.

Salt Lake City Police officers stopped a vehicle near 485 W. 100 South Thursday morning and asked the driver Joshua Barlow, 23, to perform field sobriety tests.

Barlow did not comply and began resisting, at one point trying to use a stun gun on the officers, according to a Salt Lake City Police report.

The officers tazed Barlow and took him into custody. He was booked into jail on charges of assaulting a police officer, interference, and driving under the influence, according to Salt Lake City Police.
