On a frigid, snowy Monday night at McCormick Field, the Asheville Tourists struggled once again.
The Rome Braves (7-4) scored in each of the final three innings, including a three-run ninth that was the difference in a 9-6 victory in front of a bundled up audience of 732.
The Tourists (2-9) banged out 11 hits and got home runs from Casey Golden (his third) and Ramon Marcelino (second), but it wasn’t enough to overcome Rome’s 12-hit attack.
Riley Delgado and Drew Lugbauer had three hits and three RBIs each for the Braves. Lugbauer hit two home runs, including a two-run shot in the ninth.
Asheville starter Antonio Santos (0-2) struck out nine in six innings but also gave up six hits and four earned runs.
Asheville’s seven-game homestand ends with single games Tuesday and Wednesday, both 7:05 p.m. starts vs. Rome.
