The Andrews Wildcats haven't had a winning season since 2011, but hope 2019 will be the year that changes.

Andrews finished 3-8 last season, and 1-5 in the Smoky Mountain Conference. They hope another year under his belt will help junior quarterback Tucker Holloway have a breakout season. Last year Holloway led the team in passing with over 500 yards with 5 touchdowns. Holloway has his top two rushers back from last year. Senior Landon White ran for 785 yards with 14 touchdowns and junior Gavin Wilson rushed for 696 yards and 8 more touchdowns.

The Wildcats with only 29 players on the squad but does have 7 starters back on offense and defense. Coach James Phillips says playing in the rugged Smoky Mountain 1A conference helps build toughness, and will make for a better football team.

Andrews starts their season at Trinity Academy of Gray, TN on August 23.
