Beyond the Scoreboard: Several WNC high-school football games moved up due to Florence

The expected landing of Hurricane Florence and possible weather damage from the Category 4 storm has caused several WNC high school football games to be moved up from their Friday night schedules.

Draughn at Avery County will be played at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Roberson at North Buncombe will be played Thursday at 7 p.m.

The following games have been moved up to Thursday night starts at 7:30 p.m.

Erwin at Asheville High, Enka at Reynolds, Burns at Hendersonville and Brevard at Owen.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released a statement that said the organization is monitoring the storm and reminding schools to act responsibly and with safety in mind in considering rescheduling or postponing games.
