To say it’s been a successful start for the ladies in Blue would be an understatement. In their inaugural season, the Asheville City Soccer Club women’s team have fought hard and made their mark in the WPSL.
Currently, Asheville City sits atop the Carolinas Conference with a point advantage over the Carolina Rapids. As long as the Blues keep winning, there’s nothing the Rapids can do to overtake them. In the WPSL, only division winners make the postseason. "Even though we've out-shot and out-scored our opponents by a large margin it just comes down to this rule that the conference winner advances," explained Stacey Enos. Her squad currently holds a 7-0-1 record with a goal differential of +28, second in the country only to Chicago Red Star Reserves.
Tuesday, the Blues play their final home game of the season against Discoveries SC.
