Asheville - One of the top returning starting quarterbacks in the mountains is changing schools. Erwin's Jared Penland is transferring to Tuscola next year according to Warriors coach Rodney Pruett.
Penland's father accepted a baseball coaching jkob with the Mountaineers and his son is following him.
The rising junior quarterback had a nice sophomore season in 2019 for Erwin. He threw for more than 18 hundred yards and 17 touchdowns in his first year as a starter.
Erwin does have a replacement in house. Former Pisgah quarterback Korey Griffith transferred to Erwin two weeks ago. He threw for 949 yards and six touchdowns last year for the Black Bears.
