The Swain County Maroon Devils hope for big things in 2019. The Maroon Devils had a solid 7-6 record last season and a third-place finish in the tough Smoky Mountain 1A title but hope more experience in key playmaking positions will make them title contenders.

Swain County returns a quarterback and running back who had great sophomore seasons which could be even better in their junior seasons. Damian Lossiah and Bryce Sain. Lossiah passed for 469 yards and 5 TD's but on the ground is where he made a bigger impact. He rushed for 1055 yards and 10 TD's. Sain had even more yards. He rushed for 1254 yards and had 1839 total yards with 20 touchdowns.

The Maroon Devils start their season at Life Christian Academy on August 23.
