It’s World Cup time baby! The 2018 FIFA World Cup, kicks off at 11 a.m. Eastern time TODAY, Thursday June 14, in Russia with Russia v. Saudi Arabia, and ends with the Final at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 15.
Between June 15th and June 28th there will be 3-4 group stage games daily (usually 8 a.m. 11 a.m., and 2 p.m.), followed by the Round of 16/Quarterfinals at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from June 30th – July 3rd & July 6th-7th, and the Semifinals at 2 p.m. July 10th-11th. Even without the U.S. in it and a record 38 games on broadcast TV.
Asheville Brewing will show the World Cup games listed above at both their Merrimon and downtown Asheville locations. The brewery says their new projector on the huge, outdoor covered patio that will be showing games.
In addition, the Asheville City Soccer Club will be hosting a World Cup Watch party for Portugal vs. Spain on Friday, June 15 at Hi-Wire’s Big Top starting at 2 p.m.
