With highs in the mid 60s and lower 70s, weekend weather in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina is shaping up to be gorgeous.
But that beautiful weather may come to an end with the chance for severe weather on Monday.
Saturday should be mostly sunny with some clouds in the sky. The temperature will drop down with lows in the mid 40s at night. Then Sunday should be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 70s. By Sunday night the temperature will drop down with lows in the lower 50s.
Monday is expected to start off mostly sunny in the morning with a chance of rain for much of the region.
Fall foliage is bursting with color across the region and many are taking advantage of the weather to see what they can. Officials with Grandfather Mountain State Park say this weekend should be one of the season's best for color, especially with colors still peaking up in some areas of the high country.
"...even if higher elevation sites are past peak, lower elevation sites will be coming into their best color over the next two weeks," Dr. Howie Neufeld, professor of biology at Appalachian State University and the WNC High Country’s official Fall Color Guy said in a press release from Grandfather Mountain.
