Hope for Haywood, a flood relief fundraiser by News 13 and the United Way, has received a huge donation. Canopy Realtor Association and Canopy MLS have contributed $400,000 to the cause.

The funds will be used to help those displaced by Tropical Storm Fred find housing and repair some homes in the Haywood County area.

"We knew we needed to help out. And we knew we needed to help out in a significant way. As you know, we're still waiting to see if we're going to get federal funding. I'm really hoping and challenging some other businesses in our area to step up and to help. We need to help each other here," said Brian Cagle, managing broker at Beverly-Hanks in Waynesville.
